Meet the SpinOlution Pollywog - Lightweight, Portable, and Perfect for New Spinners
SpinOlution’s Pollywog spinning wheel is their most affordable (as well as adorable!) option and a great option for new spinners to learn and grow with. That being said, the Pollywog is still versatile enough to be used by experienced spinners looking for a lightweight (less than 9lb), travel buddy. The Pollywog is treadled with toe-centric rockers for a gentle, quiet spin. This wheel can spin from fine silk to chunky art yarns. If you plan to spin extra-fine, the accelerator and closed-tube orifice bar add-ons are recommended.
The Pollywog comes standard with 3, 4-oz bobbins with an optional 12oz flyer/bobbin available for those looking for a larger bobbin capacity, especially for art yarns! Also included is a built-in lazy kate that holds 3, 4oz bobbins.
Due to the smaller footprint of the Pollywog, taller spinners may want to consider also adding an orifice riser that will add 3 inches to the height of the orifice. Not sure if you need the riser or accelerator? Don’t worry, order the basic setup and see how it works for you first; add-ons can always be ordered at a later time.

Direct from SpinOlution:
The SpinOlution Pollywog is a lightweight, portable spinning wheel designed with beginners in mind, but fun for all ages. It’s easy to treadle with your toes, making it a great budget-friendly option whether you’re spinning at home or on the go. Despite its small size, it’s built with care and precision, so you get a smooth, quiet, and efficient spinning experience every time. The double treadles and adjustable tension give you solid control, while the built-in lazy kate holds three 4 oz bobbins for convenience.
What really makes the Pollywog stand out is its versatility. You can spin anything from fine laceweight to chunky art yarns, thanks to the by-passable orifice and smooth treadling. It handles wool, silk, and other fibers with ease—perfect for a wide range of projects. Made from high-quality, sustainably sourced Baltic birch, it’s durable enough to last for years. Plus, it’s easy to assemble and carry, so whether you’re heading to a retreat or just moving from room to room, the Pollywog keeps up. If you’re ready to start (or grow) your spinning journey, this wheel makes it simple and enjoyable.
Get the most out of your Pollywog.
Need a taller orifice? Add the Pollywog orifice riser to add 3 inches of orifice height. Install this riser above the wheel and below the head. It is designed to be used on either the 4 oz flyer or 12 oz flyer. It is not recommended to be used with the accelerator.
*Need faster speeds for fine spinning? Add the Pollywog accelerator to your wheel for multiple faster ratios for ultrafine and thread spinning.
*Need more bobbin capacity? Upgrade to a Pollywog 12 oz flyer head which can hold more yardage and chunky, bulky, art yarns.
*Need a closed orifice? Add a tube orifice to your 4 oz or 12 oz flyer head if you prefer spinning with a closed orifice.
